What is the AMC?

The American Mathematics Competitions (AMC) are a series of mathematics contests for middle and high school students. AMC 8 is for grades 8 and below, AMC 10 for grades 10 and below, and AMC 12 for grades 12 and below. Top scorers on AMC 10/12 qualify for the AIME.

AMC 8/10/12 2026-2027 Exam Dates

Following the standard schedule, AMC 8 2027 is expected in mid-to-late January 2027, with registration from September to December 2026. AMC 10/12 2026-2027 is expected in November 2026 (A and B sessions), with registration from September to October 2026. Always confirm with the MAA official announcement.

How to Register for AMC

Students in China can register through school groups or authorized test centers. Hanhai International Education is an official AMC authorized test center, helping students register for AMC 8/10/12 and providing seats at our Shenzhen campuses.

AMC Exam Format

AMC 8 has 25 questions in 40 minutes. AMC 10/12 have 25 questions in 75 minutes, scored 6 points for correct, 1.5 for blank, and 0 for incorrect. AMC 10/12 top performers advance to AIME.
